Many of us fear that darkness. In many of our lives it has become a reality, a diagnosis that has floored many and brought them to their knees. In one family that I am acquainted with, there has been nine to ten diagnosis of breast cancer over the years. ...

The sky is not the limit

Show your strength, your warmth. You have a purpose
Get out there and soar.
Soar!!!
Your time has come.
It is now!!!

Dante Smith-Brown
There was a time that I almost lost myself; There was a time that I doubted myself I believed that I should stand in the background, Fade away; There was a time that I allowed those who were filled with misery to cause me pain to make me miserable But then the rain stopped, The sun came out and I saw the light I am no longer in that place of uncertainty I listened and heeded the whispers of the divine of my ancestors past and what my inner being screamed. It’s time to rise!!! Rise up my child! You were trampled, knocked down. There is no shame in being down But you can’t stay there: You cried! you paid! That’s done, over. You have a voice, Speak out and let them hear. Your winter is over: It’s your spring and your Summer It’s time to take back the field that you planted, That field where your bitter tears fell, while they unkindly crowed. Reap the harvest from the goodness and kindness that you have sowed Dry those tears, harsh tears that you cried while you toiled. Show your strength, your warmth. You have a purpose Get out there and soar. Soar!!! Your time has come. It is now!!! I stand fierce and proud in my reawakening, Embracing my Queendom as I stand on top of the mountain, Yes, I have been betrayed, tried, trampled But yet I remain me, true, beautiful and proud. I am ready to soar. The sky is not the limit.
